I grew up in a little Cornish fishing village where I spent most of my childhood exploring rock pools. After spending many years working behind various computers in London and Bristol, I slowly became uninspired by the rat-race so moved back home. I now live by the sea with my partner and two crazy little boys and a blind cat called Maise
I grew up in a little Cornish fishing village where I spent most of my childhood exploring rock pools. After spending many years working behind various computers in London and Bristol, I slowly became uninspired by the rat-race so moved back home. I now live by the sea with my partner and two crazy little boys and a blind cat called Maisey. I have never been happier. I like, amongst other things, pickled eggs, den building with my boys, pizza Fridays, and sucking my thumb. I HATE coriander!

I have always wanted to be a writer but it's taken me over ten years to get my first book published. I have had HUNDREDS of rejections but I kept going. I have always wanted to be a writer but it's taken me over ten years to get my first book published. I have had HUNDREDS of rejections but I kept going. Practice really does make perfect, so never give up on your dreams, whatever they are. I wouldn't be here without the support of my wonderful agents and editors, past and present, and I still have LOADS of rejections but it's been the BEST journey. It's so exciting to see my books on the bookshelves and I'm always happy to offer advice to anyone who is looking to get their own picture books published, so do get in touch.

AWARDS...(almost)
YET, I haven't actually won any awards BUT Sian and I were shortlisted for the Portsmouth Book Awards in 2022 and here is the proof lol. AND NOW RECENT UPDATE...drumroll please...Navya and I have been shortlisted for the 2025 Portsmouth Book Award!! Hopefully I'll actually win something one day...
