I grew up in a little Cornish fishing village, where I spent most of my childhood exploring rock pools and roaming by the sea. After many years working behind various computers in London and Bristol, I slowly became uninspired by the rat race and decided it was time to head back home.

I grew up in a little Cornish fishing village, where I spent most of my childhood exploring rock pools and roaming by the sea. After many years working behind various computers in London and Bristol, I slowly became uninspired by the rat race and decided it was time to head back home.
I now live by the sea with my partner and our two wonderfully crazy little boys.
Amongst other things, I love pickled eggs, Pizza Fridays, and (rather embarrassingly) I still suck my thumb. I absolutely hate coriander.
Alongside writing, I also work as a counsellor, supporting people as they navigate life’s challenges.

I’ve always wanted to be a writer, but it took more than ten years to get my first book published. Along the way I received hundreds of rejections—but I kept going.
Practice really does make you better (okay, not perfect!), so my biggest piece of advice is: don’t give up on your dreams, whatever they are.

I wouldn’t be here without the support of my wonderful agents and editors, past and present. And yes—I still get plenty of rejections! But it’s been the best journey, and seeing my books on the shelves is incredibly exciting.
